If anyone is curious, this doesn't work on RDNA 2 (or, presumably, RDNA 1). I have an RX 6800 XT, and I've been able to get to where rocminfo correctly reports my GPU, but when I try to do anything with pytorch, the process just freezes. Other people are reporting the same result on Reddit.

"This solution should work for other AMD RDNA2 and RDNA3 capable devices, like the RX 7600XT and the RX 6950XT with some minor alterations"
not really, you cannot install the drivers.
