AMD Radeon Adrenaline for WSL with PyTorch ROCm ComfyUI on Windows
In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of setting up and using AMD Radeon Adrenaline for Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) with PyTorch ROCm and ComfyUI on Windows.
Step 1: Install AMD Radeon Adrenaline
First, you need to download and install AMD Radeon Adrenaline drivers on your Windows system to enable GPU acceleration for your WSL environment. You can download the latest drivers from the AMD website and follow the installation instructions provided.
Step 2: Set up WSL with PyTorch ROCm
Once you have installed the AMD Radeon Adrenaline drivers, you can set up a WSL environment with PyTorch ROCm support. You can follow the official PyTorch ROCm installation guide to install the necessary dependencies and packages to enable GPU acceleration within your WSL environment.
Step 3: Install ComfyUI
ComfyUI is a user-friendly interface for managing your AMD Radeon Adrenaline settings and configurations. You can download and install ComfyUI from the official website and follow the installation instructions provided.
Step 4: Configure ComfyUI for WSL
Once you have installed ComfyUI, you can configure it to work with your WSL environment. Open ComfyUI and navigate to the settings menu to select your WSL environment and configure the GPU acceleration settings accordingly.
Step 5: Start using PyTorch ROCm with AMD Radeon Adrenaline on WSL
Now that you have set up AMD Radeon Adrenaline, WSL with PyTorch ROCm, and ComfyUI on your Windows system, you can start using GPU acceleration for your PyTorch calculations within your WSL environment. You can run your PyTorch scripts and applications as usual and benefit from the added performance boost provided by your AMD Radeon GPU.
Congratulations! You have successfully set up and configured AMD Radeon Adrenaline for WSL with PyTorch ROCm and ComfyUI on your Windows system.
This tutorial provides a step-by-step guide to help you set up and configure AMD Radeon Adrenaline for WSL with PyTorch ROCm and ComfyUI on your Windows system. Does it work on 5000 series? I've tried this before but couldnt make it work
Why AMD doing like this not provide supprot for 6000 series?
anyone figure out how to get it installed on a 7800xt?
Finally i can use my 7900xtx without switching to linux
If anyone is curious, this doesn't work on RDNA 2 (or, presumably, RDNA 1). I have an RX 6800 XT, and I've been able to get to where rocminfo correctly reports my GPU, but when I try to do anything with pytorch, the process just freezes. Other people are reporting the same result on Reddit.
Can this work with 6700XT?
i have rx6900xt. should i use it on windows or on wsl?
i have amd rx6700xt and i want run tenerflow and other library in native wimdows ? with in jp notebook
you should do a video on how to install on unsupported gpus, since there are a few people including me asking how to do it
I know maybe is absurd but, can this run in RX580?
any performance difference with native linux?
Any performance gains compared to directml?
i have 6700xt.. can i use rocm on wsl?
"This solution should work for other AMD RDNA2 and RDNA3 capable devices, like the RX 7600XT and the RX 6950XT with some minor alterations"
not really, you cannot install the drivers.
how can you install the driver for a 7800xt
Anyone know how to get this to work for a radeon rx 6950xt? Is that something I have to wait for?
Honestly never thought amd would ever release this after so many years
I noticed it mentions Windows 11, does it also work under Windows 10?
