Create Your Own Plastic Bottle Fish Aquarium!

Posted by

Are you looking for a fun and creative way to upcycle old plastic bottles? Why not try making your own plastic bottle fish aquarium! This project is not only a great way to reuse materials that would otherwise end up in the landfill, but it also provides a unique and colorful decoration for your home.

Materials needed:
– Plastic bottle (any size will work, but a larger bottle will allow for more space for your fish)
– Scissors
– Acrylic paint
– Paintbrushes
– Googly eyes
– Pipe cleaners
– Clear packing tape
– Gravel or sand
– Plastic fish figurines
– Aquarium plants or other decorations

Step 1: Prepare the plastic bottle
Start by cleaning out your plastic bottle and removing any labels or stickers. Next, use the scissors to carefully cut off the top of the bottle. You can also trim the bottom of the bottle if you want to create a more interesting shape for your aquarium.

Step 2: Paint the bottle
Once you have your bottle prepared, it’s time to get creative! Use the acrylic paint to decorate the outside of the bottle to resemble an underwater scene. You can use various colors to create a background of water, sand, rocks, or plants. Let the paint dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Add the fish
To create your fish, cut pieces of pipe cleaner to make fins and tails. Attach googly eyes to the pipe cleaners to create the fish’s eyes. Use clear packing tape to attach the fish to the inside of the bottle. You can create as many fish as you like and place them at different levels in the aquarium.

Step 4: Add gravel or sand
Pour gravel or sand into the bottom of the bottle to create a substrate for your fish aquarium. This will also help to weigh down the bottle and keep it stable.

Step 5: Decorate the aquarium
Add plastic fish figurines, aquarium plants, or other decorations to complete your underwater scene. Be creative and have fun arranging the decorations in your aquarium.

Step 6: Display your aquarium
Once you have finished decorating your plastic bottle fish aquarium, place it on a shelf, desk, or table in your home. You can also add a small LED light to the top of the bottle to illuminate your underwater scene.

Your DIY plastic bottle fish aquarium is now complete! This project is a fun and eco-friendly way to create a unique decoration for your home. Get creative and experiment with different designs and decorations to make your aquarium truly one-of-a-kind.

Please don't trap a fish in something so small…. imagine being trapped in a tiny room barely bigger than you are for a long period of time…the fish will actually die from the stress of being in there.
