Working On My Own App – Day in the Life of a Software Engineer (ep. 3)

Introduction

As a software engineer, I spend a lot of my time creating and developing software applications. In this episode, I will take you through a day in my life as I work on my own app.

Morning Routine

My day typically starts with a cup of coffee and reviewing my tasks for the day. I usually have a list of features that I need to implement or bugs that I need to fix in my app.

Coding and Debugging

Once I have my tasks laid out, I dive into coding. I spend most of my day writing code, testing it, and debugging any issues that arise. This can be a challenging and time-consuming process, but it’s also incredibly rewarding when everything comes together seamlessly.

Meetings and Collaborations

Throughout the day, I also have meetings with my team to discuss progress, brainstorm ideas, and address any challenges we may be facing. Collaboration is key in software development, and I value the input and feedback of my colleagues.

Testing and Deployment

Once I have completed a feature or fixed a bug, I run thorough tests to ensure that everything is working as expected. After thorough testing, I deploy the changes to a staging environment for further testing before finally pushing the changes live.

Reflection and Planning

At the end of the day, I take some time to reflect on my progress and plan for the next day. Software development is an ever-evolving field, and there is always something new to learn and improve upon.

Conclusion

Working on my own app as a software engineer is a challenging but rewarding experience. I love being able to create something from scratch and see it come to life through my code. Stay tuned for the next episode as I continue to work on my app and strive for excellence in my craft.

Subbed! Awesome to see that you also have your own passion project. I'm actually gonna send you an email later this week to hear if you could be up for helping with some feedback for our side-project. We would love to give feedback on your project aswell, if it makes sense! Keep up the good work!

Great Video!
one small thing regarding credentials in frontend, even if you're using env variables they're still gonna be exposable publicly when used.

Great video! It's interesting to see the process of developing an app. What programming languages have you thought about using for the project before you decided?
