Design Flaw in Bottle Cage Mounts of Specialized Levo Alloy 2021 Model

Specialized Levo Alloy 2021 Design Flaw – Bottle Cage Mounts

The Specialized Levo Alloy 2021 is a popular electric mountain bike known for its powerful motor and sleek design. However, one major flaw in its design has been causing frustration for many riders – the bottle cage mounts.

Unlike many other bikes on the market, the Levo Alloy 2021 only has one set of standard bottle cage mounts on the underside of the downtube. This may not seem like a big deal at first, but it becomes a problem when riders try to mount a water bottle cage on their bike.

The positioning of the bottle cage mounts makes it difficult to access the water bottle while riding, as it sits too close to the frame of the bike. This can be especially challenging for riders who need to stay hydrated during long rides or races.

Additionally, the lack of additional bottle cage mounts means riders are limited in their options for carrying water or other essentials on their bike. Some riders have resorted to using aftermarket solutions such as handlebar-mounted bottle cages or hydration packs, but these can be less convenient and more cumbersome than traditional bottle cages.

While the Specialized Levo Alloy 2021 is a high-performing electric mountain bike in many regards, its design flaw with the bottle cage mounts has left some riders feeling disappointed. Hopefully, Specialized will address this issue in future models to provide a more practical and user-friendly solution for hydration on the trail.

It’s weird, I made the same
mistake. I someone ended up with an extra nut that fell off the bike. It doesn’t fit those screws though. I don’t know what it’s for. You can take the battery out and there are a couple spots to screw into that cable that runs through the inside.

I came across this today, took the bottle cage off not realizing this abomination lurked inside. Spent ages finally getting the cage back on, after much swearing – ran out of time for a ride and to make matters works I broke off the charge port door while I was at it. So much rage. 😡

How did you put it back? Got a Levo and wanted to add an air pump next to the bottle cage and got stuck with this issue… I've spend long time with one hand inside the battery tube trying to lineup with the bolt on the other side, without success. Makes me crazy!

in the manual it shows how to remove it pain free.. and even if u dont read it… when removing its not terribly hard to notice its bolted

I pull out one screw and losen the other. Than twist the water bottle cage out off the way of the hole and temporarily put the screw back in, then remove the other and water bottle cage. Install i reverse the steps,it keep the wire bracket line up with holes as long as you dont take both screws out at the same time it works great i have done it a dozen times.

Hello, this is really a misconstruction. I have cut a M6 thread in the two bushings. In the case of the lower bushing with the hand tap in half turns. It holds really well! So you can easily dismantle the bottle holder (I need that because I have mounted an airtag holder underneath)

Remove the battery and you’ll have access to the nuts.
