DIY Bird Water Feeder: Easy Steps to Make a Homemade Plastic Bottle Bird Feeder

Posted by

Birds are beautiful creatures that bring life and color to our surroundings. One way to attract birds to your backyard or garden is by providing them with a water source. In this tutorial, we will show you how to make a bird water feeder using a plastic bottle that you can easily DIY at home.

Materials needed:

1. Plastic bottle
2. Scissors
3. String or wire
4. Hot glue gun
5. Small plate or saucer
6. Drill

Step 1: Prepare the Materials

Gather all the materials needed for this project. Make sure to choose a plastic bottle that is clean and free from any residue. You can use any size of plastic bottle depending on the size of birds in your area.

Step 2: Prepare the Bottle

Using the scissors, carefully cut the bottom part of the plastic bottle. Make sure to cut it clean and straight to create a flat surface. This will serve as the base of the bird water feeder.

Step 3: Create Holes in the Bottle

Using the drill, make a few small holes around the top opening of the plastic bottle. These holes will allow the water to flow out slowly and prevent the water from overflowing. Be sure to position the holes evenly around the top part of the bottle.

Step 4: Attach the Plate

Using the hot glue gun, attach the small plate or saucer to the flat surface of the plastic bottle. This will serve as the water reservoir for the birds to drink from. Make sure to secure the plate firmly to prevent it from falling off.

Step 5: Attach the String or Wire

Attach a string or wire to the neck of the plastic bottle. This will allow you to hang the bird water feeder from a tree branch or any other suitable location in your backyard.

Step 6: Fill with Water

Fill the plastic bottle with clean and fresh water. Make sure not to fill it up too much to avoid overflowing. Hang the bird water feeder at a suitable height where birds can easily access it.

Step 7: Hang the Bird Water Feeder

Hang the bird water feeder from a tree branch or any other secure location in your backyard. Make sure to place it away from any predators or obstacles that may harm the birds.

Congratulations! You have successfully made a DIY homemade plastic bottle bird water feeder. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the beautiful birds as they come to drink from the feeder you have created. Happy bird watching!

Curious. Why did you put 3 holes near the neck of the bottle instead of just one?

Best thing about these projects is you show them used by real birds. Unlike those vlogs where they photoshop birds. Stay blessed Ameen.
