Mini planter diy with cement and plastic bottle

In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a mini planter using cement and a plastic bottle. This is a simple and fun project that you can do at home to add a touch of greenery to your living space.

Materials needed:
– Plastic bottle
– Cement mix
– Water
– Mixing bowl
– Stirring stick
– Sandpaper
– Paint (optional)
– Succulent or small plant

Step 1: Prepare the plastic bottle
Start by cutting the plastic bottle in half using a sharp knife or pair of scissors. The bottom half of the bottle will be used as the mold for the planter, so make sure to clean it thoroughly and remove any labels.

Step 2: Mix the cement
In a mixing bowl, combine the cement mix with water according to the instructions on the package. Stir the mixture until it reaches a smooth, thick consistency.

Step 3: Fill the mold
Pour the cement mixture into the bottom half of the plastic bottle, filling it up to about halfway. Use the stirring stick to smooth out the surface and remove any air bubbles.

Step 4: Create drainage holes
While the cement is still wet, use a small object like a toothpick or pencil to create drainage holes in the bottom of the planter. This will allow excess water to drain out and prevent root rot in your plants.

Step 5: Let it dry
Place the mold in a dry, well-ventilated area and allow the cement to dry completely. This usually takes about 24-48 hours, depending on the humidity levels in your environment.

Step 6: Remove the mold
Once the cement is fully dry, carefully cut away the plastic bottle from the planter using a pair of scissors. Use sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges or imperfections on the surface of the planter.

Step 7: Decorate (optional)
If you like, you can paint the planter with acrylic or spray paint to add a pop of color to your space. Allow the paint to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.

Step 8: Plant your succulent
Fill the planter with soil and plant your succulent or small plant of choice. Make sure to water it regularly and place it in a sunny spot to thrive.

And there you have it! A mini planter diy with cement and plastic bottle that adds a touch of greenery to your home decor. This project is a great way to upcycle plastic waste and create a unique and stylish planter for your plants. Try it out and let your creativity shine!
