Posted by

In a recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S Jaishankar highlighted the growing economic ties between India and Russia, with bilateral trade expected to reach 50 billion dollars in the coming years.

The meeting, which took place in Moscow, was a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between the two countries, as both sides discussed various avenues for enhanced cooperation in defense, energy, and technology sectors.

During the meeting, EAM Jaishankar emphasized the deep-rooted historical and strategic ties that bind India and Russia, which have been further strengthened in recent years through joint initiatives such as the India-Russia Annual Summit and the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological, and Cultural Cooperation.

One of the key highlights of the discussion was the remarkable growth in bilateral trade, with both sides aiming to achieve the ambitious target of 50 billion dollars in the near future. This significant milestone is a testament to the strong economic partnership between the two countries and demonstrates the mutual commitment to further elevate their trade relations.

India and Russia have identified several key areas of collaboration to boost their trade ties, including the exploration of new investment opportunities, the promotion of joint ventures in manufacturing and technology, and the facilitation of easier trade and investment regulations.

Moreover, both countries have also expressed a keen interest in expanding their cooperation in the defense and energy sectors, with India emerging as a key market for Russian defense equipment and energy resources.

The meeting between EAM Jaishankar and President Putin reaffirms the commitment of both countries to further strengthen their economic partnership, as they work towards achieving the 50 billion dollar trade target. It also underscores the shared vision of India and Russia to harness their strategic and economic synergies for mutual benefit.

As India continues to make significant strides in its economic growth and diversification efforts, the partnership with Russia holds immense potential for both countries to leverage each other’s strengths and capitalize on emerging opportunities in various sectors.

In conclusion, the growing economic ties between India and Russia, as highlighted by EAM Jaishankar, not only signify the deep-rooted friendship between the two countries but also hold immense promise for further enhancing their trade relations. The target of 50 billion dollars in bilateral trade reflects the shared commitment to harnessing their economic potential and reinforces the strategic partnership that continues to evolve and thrive.

Putin clearly knows why Jaishankar is there .

1. US pressure over Panu case , potential sanctions by US and allies in future

2. Being arm twisted by Qatar . The death sentence of 8 naval officers have been changed to jail term . But in return, Qatar forced India to NOT declare Hamas a terror outfit , even after Jaish declared as terror outfit by Israel .

3. India is in process of becoming Russian – Federation like country and with no opposition political party .

4. Being Russia’s friend and US’s foe means India has to be submissive to China . Russia would never go against China for India .

Coming years are going to be very challenging

To those wondering poor body posture of Dr Jaishankar Sir, then understand that it's a polite way of addressing a country's President being a Minister and representative of a Country.. Also the hands under the table is an ethics of showing gentleness and respect, Hands are not supposed to be on the table when you are talking to someone superior.. He has worked as an IFS and knows far better than everyone of us..

It's easy to make fun on social media..

People saying EAM Jaishankar is showing poor body language while addressing President Putin, just rewatch the video. He is not nervous, more like he is very polite. If you see in his opening words when he talks about PM Modi, his voice has a higher pitch, which gradually goes down as he speaks of other matters like trade and etc. He looks straight in the eyes while choosing his words very carefully. While his colleagues show a very professional posture, taking notes on the discussion as President Putin makes eye contact with them. Overall, It is a very professional behavior.
