‘Fear of losing my life: Migrants in America share their experiences in Africa’

Posted by

I was in fear of losing my life in Africa. The fear was so real, so suffocating, that I made the difficult decision to leave everything behind and seek refuge in America.

Like many other migrants, I left my home country in search of safety and security. The place I once called home had become a dangerous and hostile environment, and I knew I had to escape. The journey to America was not an easy one. It was fraught with danger, uncertainty, and hardship. I faced countless challenges, including treacherous travel conditions, exploitation by smugglers, and the constant fear of being caught and deported.

But despite the difficulties, I was determined to reach the shores of America. I knew that my life depended on it. When I finally arrived in America, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief. I was no longer in fear of losing my life. I was finally in a place where I could live without constantly looking over my shoulder, where I could pursue a better future for myself and my family.

However, the challenges did not end when I reached America. As a migrant, I faced discrimination, xenophobia, and the constant threat of deportation. The journey to safety was far from over. I had to navigate a complex and often hostile immigration system, and I had to fight for my right to stay in this country.

Despite the obstacles, I was determined to make a life for myself in America. I found work, made friends, and built a community for myself. But the fear of losing my life never truly went away. As a migrant, I am constantly reminded that my presence in this country is precarious, that my safety and security are never guaranteed.

The experience of being in fear of losing my life in Africa has shaped my perspective on life in America. I am grateful for the safety and security I have found here, but I am also acutely aware of the challenges that migrants face. I am fortunate to have made it to America, but I know that many others are still living in fear, still in desperate need of refuge.

As a migrant in America, I am committed to advocating for the rights and safety of those who have not yet found a safe haven. I am determined to use my voice and my experience to bring attention to the plight of migrants and to fight for a more inclusive and compassionate immigration system.

I was in fear of losing my life in Africa, but I found refuge in America. Now, I am dedicated to helping others do the same.

So he pays the coyotes/smugglers to illegally get him across the borders. Then what? I just don't understand fundamentally what these people think is going to happen even if you somehow manage to get here. What? We're just going to hand you money? Hand you a home? Hand you a good paying job? Hand you medical/dental and a matching 401k contribution?

So now what? You just wasted your last rupee to get here and you're now stuck in a country that doesn't want you, temperatures dropping, you don't speak the language, offer no skills/trade and have nothing. How about you try and fix the country you're trying to flee?

Shame on america Black People are the ones that have been treated like Migrants and we built this country and the government turns a blind eye to our needs as a Black Community all over america. We are so separated as a people the Black Community. It's a downright shame. This is what put us in this mess that slave mentality, It's time Black People to wake up

The continent of Africa has a lot of fighting. People that want power takes kids to turn them soldiers and brain wash them. They also torture them, force people to work for them, terrorize them, and other things. People are afraid and need help protecting themselves from them.

They need to deport people this is not a free for all, they need to close the boarders. None of these are reasons for asylum.

Things in America isn't like they used to be. Even Americans are suffering with homelessness, starvation and violence. So I reckon they'll find out the hard way.

The Americans life is more stressfull wandering about how are we going to feed our family are we going to loose our homes where are we going to get money for gas and how are we going to get our medicine and medical attention., so how in the hell are we suppose to feel sorry for the illegals who are nothing but migrants who don't belong here a lot of them have it better than we do so don't play on my sympathy, the government puts the illegal migrants before the Americans!!!!!!!!
