Sanitizer spray bottles are essential tools nowadays, especially during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. They help us keep our hands and surfaces clean and germ-free. However, just like any other tool, they can sometimes get damaged or stop working properly. In this tutorial, I will share my experience of repairing my sanitizer spray bottle not once, but twice, and how you can do it too.
The first time my sanitizer spray bottle stopped working was when the pump nozzle got clogged. I noticed that the sanitizer wasn’t coming out as smoothly as before, and sometimes it wouldn’t come out at all. After a quick inspection, I realized that the nozzle had some residue buildup, which was blocking the flow of the sanitizer.
To fix this issue, I took the following steps:
1. Unscrew the nozzle: I first unscrewed the pump nozzle from the bottle. This allowed me to get a closer look at the clog and assess the extent of the problem.
2. Clean the nozzle: Using a small cleaning brush and some warm, soapy water, I carefully scrubbed the inside of the nozzle to remove any residue or buildup. If you don’t have a cleaning brush, a toothpick or a small cotton swab can also be effective.
3. Rinse and dry: After cleaning the nozzle, I rinsed it thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue. Then, I let it air dry completely before reattaching it to the bottle.
4. Test the spray: Once the nozzle was clean and dry, I screwed it back onto the bottle and tested the spray. It worked perfectly, and the sanitizer flowed smoothly once again.
However, a few weeks later, I encountered another issue with my sanitizer spray bottle. This time, the pump mechanism itself was not working properly. When I pressed down on the pump, nothing came out, no matter how many times I tried.
To fix this problem, I followed these steps:
1. Check the pump mechanism: I removed the pump mechanism from the bottle to inspect it closely. I noticed that the tube inside the pump had become bent, preventing the sanitizer from being pumped out.
2. Straighten the tube: Using a pair of pliers, I carefully straightened the bent tube inside the pump mechanism. It took some patience and gentle pressure, but eventually, the tube was back to its original shape.
3. Reassemble the pump: Once the tube was straightened, I reassembled the pump mechanism and screwed it back onto the bottle.
4. Test the spray: Finally, I tested the spray again, and this time, the sanitizer came out smoothly and without any issues.
In conclusion, if your sanitizer spray bottle stops working, don’t panic. Most of the time, the issue can be fixed with some simple cleaning and maintenance. By following the steps I outlined in this tutorial, you can easily repair your sanitizer spray bottle and keep it working efficiently for a long time. Remember to clean the nozzle regularly to prevent clogs and check the pump mechanism for any signs of damage. With a little care and attention, your sanitizer spray bottle will continue to be a reliable tool in keeping you and your surroundings clean and sanitized.
Just put a needle through the hole where the little bead was. That is the end where the straw was attached. Test it out and see if it is started spraying. I did it and it worked out for me. Did not have to open the when thing. Thank you for the video 😊
