Four Essential Wix Features You Need to Know

Posted by

Wix is a popular website builder that allows you to easily create stunning websites without any technical knowledge. In this tutorial, we will discuss four key features of Wix that you need to know in order to make the most of the platform.

1. Drag-and-Drop Editor:

One of the key features of Wix is the drag-and-drop editor, which allows you to easily customize your website layout. To use this feature, simply log in to your Wix account and select the website you want to edit. Once you are in the editor, you can click on any element on the page and drag it to a new location. You can also resize elements by dragging the edges.

To add new elements to your page, simply click on the “+” icon in the left-hand menu and select from a wide range of options, including text boxes, images, videos, and more. You can then drag these elements onto your page and customize them to fit your design aesthetic.

2. Mobile Optimization:

In today’s mobile-first world, it is important to ensure that your website looks great on all devices, including smartphones and tablets. Wix makes it easy to optimize your website for mobile with its mobile editor. To access this feature, click on the mobile icon at the top of the editor.

From here, you can customize the layout and design of your website specifically for mobile devices. You can rearrange elements, hide certain elements on mobile, and even customize the mobile menu. This ensures that your website is responsive and user-friendly on all devices.

3. SEO Tools:

Another important feature of Wix is its SEO tools, which help you optimize your website for search engines. To access these tools, click on the settings icon in the editor and select SEO (Search Engine Optimization) from the menu.

From here, you can customize the meta tags for your website, including the title, description, and keywords. You can also set up 301 redirects, add alt text to images, and customize the URLs of your pages. These tools help improve your website’s visibility in search engine results, driving more traffic to your site.

4. App Market:

Finally, Wix offers an App Market with a wide range of third-party apps that you can integrate into your website. To access the App Market, click on the “+” icon in the left-hand menu and select “App Market” from the options.

From here, you can browse through a variety of apps that can enhance the functionality of your website, such as contact forms, social media integration, e-commerce tools, and more. Simply click on an app to add it to your website and customize it to fit your needs.

In conclusion, Wix offers a wide range of features that make it easy to create a professional website. By familiarizing yourself with the drag-and-drop editor, mobile optimization tools, SEO features, and App Market, you can create a stunning website that is optimized for both users and search engines.

Are these features available within Wix Editor or only Wix Studio? Been reading up on the different Wix products… it’s a little confusing what capabilities/features each has or doesn’t have.

Using the Wix site editor has been a frustrating experience due to its excessive RAM consumption and overall sluggish performance. The editor frequently slows down my entire system, making even the simplest tasks take far longer than they should. Navigating between pages often results in long delays and sometimes even causes the editor to freeze, significantly disrupting my workflow.

Additionally, we can only adjust the mobile design, and the Strip tool I use for responsive design is extremely awful and unusable. This makes it incredibly difficult to ensure a consistent and professional look for my site.

Moreover, the constant pop-up ads for premium plans every 15-20 minutes are extremely irritating. I just want to focus on my work and use the undo and redo functions without these annoying interruptions.

Can I say goodbye to WordPress and BeaverBuilder now?? If so, thank you.

This kind of reminds me of Dreamweaver in the simplicity department. Would I be able to see and edit the source page in this one? I kind of like playing in there.

BTW, your voice is dreamy…just saying… not trying to go cougar on you…well maybe a little…
