Remember: for people like me, our first computer had 256…BYTES of memory. Later, I sprang for the 4 KILO bytes card. So, we've gotten to this place where 16 GIGA bytes is pedestrian. It won't be long before 64 GB is common, plus new ways to reduce memory requirements for ML models will be discovered. By next year, the situation might look quite different.

I just recently sold one of my houses and bought an h200 for my company. I can tell you that it works way better than any MacBook ever could wish.

I can run 3 70 billion parameter models at the same time with over 100 tokens per second
