In Quentin Tarantino’s 2012 film Django Unchained, there is a memorable scene known as the “I count six shots” scene. This scene is a pivotal moment in the film where Django confronts the Brittle brothers in a bar and delivers a powerful line that sets the tone for the rest of the movie.

The scene begins with Django (played by Jamie Foxx) entering the bar where the Brittle brothers are drinking. The tension is palpable as Django calmly walks up to the brothers, who are clearly startled by his presence. Django takes a seat at the bar and orders a drink, all the while keeping a close eye on the brothers.

As the Brittle brothers begin to taunt Django, tensions rise as Django calmly responds to their insults. It is clear that Django is not one to be intimidated, and he is preparing to make a move. The tension reaches a climax when one of the Brittle brothers attempts to draw his gun on Django.

In a split second, Django is faster and draws his gun, shooting the brother dead in a quick and precise movement. As the other brothers react in shock, Django calmly delivers the iconic line, “I count six shots,” indicating that he still has bullets left in his gun.

This scene is a masterclass in tension-building and pay-off, as Django effortlessly dispatches the Brittle brothers with precision and skill. The line “I count six shots” serves as a warning to the remaining brothers that Django is not to be trifled with, and sets the stage for the rest of the film.

Overall, the “I count six shots” scene in Django Unchained is a standout moment in a film filled with memorable scenes. It showcases Django’s strength, skill, and determination, while also serving as a stark reminder of the brutality of the time period in which the film is set. It is a scene that is sure to leave a lasting impression on viewers and is a testament to Tarantino’s talent as a filmmaker.

Stephen was actually running the ranch playing house ninja. Notice he spoke freely to Candie while sitting in his chair. He ordered the Cattlemen to shoot Django. He suggested the mining company when they just wanted to tourture Django. Calvin trusted Stephen because as a Slave Stephen raised him
