How to install Sass in a Reactjs Project
If you want to use Sass in your Reactjs project, you can follow these simple steps to install it.
Step 1: Create a new Reactjs project
First, create a new Reactjs project using the create-react-app command:
npx create-react-app my-app
Step 2: Install node-sass
Next, navigate into your new project directory and install node-sass using npm or yarn:
cd my-app
npm install node-sass
or
yarn add node-sass
Step 3: Rename your stylesheet to .scss
Rename your .css file to .scss to indicate that it is a Sass file.
Step 4: Use Sass in your React components
You can now use Sass in your React components by importing the .scss file at the top of your component file:
import './App.scss';
Step 5: Start using Sass features
You can now start using Sass features like variables, nesting, and mixins in your .scss files to style your React components.
Step 6: Compile your Sass files
When you run the build command, node-sass will automatically compile your .scss files into regular .css files for use in your React project.
npm run build
or
yarn build
That’s it! You have now successfully installed Sass in your Reactjs project.
