How to use JavaScript without going crazy

JavaScript can be a powerful tool for adding interactivity and dynamic behavior to your website. However, it can also be a source of frustration and confusion if not used properly. Here are some tips to help you use JavaScript without going crazy:

1. Take it slow

Don’t try to learn everything at once. Start with the basics and gradually build up your knowledge. Take your time to understand each concept before moving on to the next.

2. Practice regularly

Practice makes perfect. Try out different coding techniques and experiment with different projects. The more you practice, the more comfortable you will become with JavaScript.

3. Use online resources

There are plenty of online resources available for learning JavaScript. Websites like Codecademy, W3Schools, and Mozilla Developer Network offer tutorials, documentation, and examples to help you improve your skills.

4. Break down complex problems

When faced with a complex coding problem, don’t panic. Break it down into smaller, more manageable tasks. This will help you tackle the problem step by step and avoid feeling overwhelmed.

5. Ask for help

Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you’re stuck. Join online forums, communities, or coding groups where you can seek advice and learn from others. Collaboration can be a great way to enhance your understanding of JavaScript.

By following these tips, you can use JavaScript effectively without feeling overwhelmed. Remember to stay patient, practice regularly, and seek help when needed. Happy coding!

Calling to wait for learning Next when it's a standard for building react apps in the background and is recommended by the React team on their page for that purpose, is just bad advice.

From my point of view, as a student of software engineering, the tip to not go crazy with JS is to keep on using the framework (or even vanilla) that makes you feel more comfortable. In the end of the day, the best framework is the one you are more productive with. People need to stop with the constant propaganda of the next revolutionary framework and start to show that what is best is what you work better with.

The community gap can be a huge problem in a lot of new techs, but theres two kind of devs:
– who consumes
– who produces

We are always using tools to pay our bills, but sometime you will find yourself falling in love with something that push your "conf zone" to make it shine.

Great advice overall, but would like to say that Deno is good to go. I passed the 6 year mark last month, Deno Deploy it's been around for 3 years and companies like Netlify and Supabase rely on Deno to provide serverless functions, there also companies like Tencent, Salesforces or The Bank of America that started to use it. I already use it for an API server.

Im running multiple internal services on bun servers, and buns typescript first ecosystem has changed the way i begin and bundle every product that i ship now including browser extensions for interacting with other services. I have only come across 1 library that i wasnt able to easily adapt and wrote off vs using the same code i was using in node, but with a better dx and at least twice the performance from my previous express servers(now elysia)

My rule is the tool should be at least 2 years, relevant, and on version 4

Many more already known frameworks need to look at how Remix does updates and why it is recommended to switch to the new version from day 1 as your app will not brake and in most cases will already use the new apis! The feature flag approach feels incredible and idk why it is not more popular.
