Majority of animals in Gaza zoo perished due to starvation and airstrikes

Posted by

The recent conflict in Gaza has had devastating effects on the human population, but it has also had a tragic impact on the animals in the area. The Al-Bisan zoo in northern Gaza has been decimated, with the majority of its animals dying as a result of starvation and airstrikes.

The zoo, which was once home to a variety of animals including lions, monkeys, and birds, is now a shadow of its former self. The few surviving animals are in a desperate state, malnourished and traumatized by the violence that has surrounded them.

The zoo’s director, Mohammed Oweida, has been struggling to care for the remaining animals, but the situation is dire. Many of the animals were killed during the airstrikes that have been targeting the area, and those that survived have been left without food and proper care.

The starvation of the animals is a result of the blockade that has been imposed on Gaza, which has severely limited the availability of food and supplies. The zoo’s staff have been unable to feed the animals properly, and as a result, many have died from hunger.

The impact of the conflict on the animals of Gaza is a tragedy that cannot be overlooked. These innocent creatures have become casualties of a war that they had no part in. The destruction of the zoo represents a loss not only for the animals themselves, but also for the people of Gaza who have lost a source of joy and connection to the natural world.

The international community has a responsibility to step in and provide aid to the remaining animals in the Al-Bisan zoo, as well as to the animals in zoos and wildlife reserves across the region that have been affected by the conflict. Organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund and the International Fund for Animal Welfare should mobilize to provide assistance and support to the animals that have survived the devastation.

The plight of the animals in Gaza serves as a stark reminder of the far-reaching impact of war and conflict. It is not only the human population that suffers, but the natural world as well. The tragic fate of the animals in the Al-Bisan zoo highlights the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Gaza, in order to prevent further loss and suffering for both humans and animals alike.

Was Hamas firing from a zoo? that might explain something. Strange how people think that Palestinians are so destitute from before October 7th…..they had a zoo….they probably had plenty of other things to make life worth living. But they decided to publicly parade the corpses of their innocent kidnapped victims through the street. Say goodbye to doing any of that again….

in all honesty. Those cages look so tiny I can’t imagine them having much of a life there. They are free now. Hopefully the ones left alive will move onto a better life elsewhere with more space this time around:(

Do they feed the lion now?? And the surviving animals also? Why zoos in such cruel countries?

Around 70% of animals were killed two years ago, but today more than 90% of animals are killed. So we can see who is a real terrorist, and for me, this evil Zionist is the same as Yajuj and Majuj, or God and Magog.

This 👆 reminds me of: A believer is relieved (by death) from the troubles and hardships of the world and leaves for the Mercy of Allah, while (the death of) a wicked person relieves the people, the land, the trees, (and) THE ANIAMLS from him." Sahih Bukhari

So there were a bunch of Hamas terrorists hanging out in the Gaza zoo. It said animals were killed in the Gaza zoo. Must have been referring to Hamas.

Israel and western leaders do not care about human life, their masks are off from humanity and ethics slogans. What can be expected from them for animals or any living creatures.
