Django Unchained is a 2012 revisionist Western film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film stars Jamie Foxx as Django, a freed slave who becomes a bounty hunter and sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner. The film is known for its dark humor, stylized violence, and clever dialogue.
In the film clip titled “You Scaring Me,” Django, played by Jamie Foxx, confronts a group of slave owners led by Calvin Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Django and his partner, Dr. King Schultz, played by Christoph Waltz, are posing as buyers interested in purchasing one of Candie’s prized fighters.
The clip begins with Django and Schultz arriving at Candie’s plantation, called Candyland, where they are greeted by a group of armed men. Candie invites them inside and the negotiations begin. As the conversation progresses, Candie becomes suspicious of Django and questions his motives.
In the tense moment that follows, Django stands his ground and delivers a powerful monologue in which he confronts Candie and his associates, telling them that they are “scaring” him with their racism and cruelty. The scene is both intense and darkly comedic, highlighting the film’s satirical take on the brutality of slavery and the racism of the antebellum South.
The cinematography in this scene is striking, with Tarantino’s trademark visual style creating a sense of tension and unease. The use of close-ups and tracking shots emphasizes the power dynamics at play, as Django asserts his agency in the face of oppression.
The acting in the scene is also notable, with Jamie Foxx delivering a powerful performance as Django, exuding confidence and defiance in the face of danger. Leonardo DiCaprio is equally impressive as Candie, radiating menace and charm in equal measure.
The dialogue in the scene is sharp and witty, showcasing Tarantino’s talent for crafting memorable lines that pack a punch. The script is filled with clever wordplay and dark humor, adding depth and complexity to the characters and their interactions.
Overall, the “You Scaring Me” clip from Django Unchained is a masterclass in tension, character development, and storytelling. It exemplifies Tarantino’s distinctive style and his ability to tackle weighty themes with wit and creativity. By diving into the complexities of race, power, and identity, the scene offers a compelling and thought-provoking glimpse into the world of Django Unchained.
And why i am scary?
Why is you lyin'?
Then why is you cryin'?
Is that the same big lady that played in Hateful 8
Wow! I wonder if joe biden saw this movie? Why ? He told all black people they are not black unless the vote for him! And how many obey democrats like Steven the character from Django unchained?
The fact that he deduced all of that from a brief moment of eye contact let you know that he was the brains of the operation
Hildas the one that ruined it lol
volume too low
This is the moment where Steven made the mistake of his life. If he had just let things take their course, he would’ve kept on doing what he was doing until he died.
i can hear the door opening and the fire crackling in the background, but there's no voices. Anyone else having this problem?
There are still people like him in today's America's society. When a racist white person only has one black friend…could be a spouse as well…they are usually of the mindset and behavior of Stephan of Django. And the token person that racist person uses to say they cant be racist. Complicated yet enacted daily nationwide in today society. This is more modern now in black women…ex. Candace Owens, Stacy Dash and Sage Steele.
Just another classic portrayal on how black people are depicted as slaves in a movie.." White America 🇺🇸 Hollywood! " that is ,are never going to let us forget where we come from..Never!!
Samuel L. Jackson should have more Oscars than anyone in Hollywood!
A truly stellar performance and IMO Samuel L. Jackson's best.
This scene betrays how astute Stephan was as he deduced it from nothing more than eyes and body language. That he’s the true mastermind of candy land.
A lot of killings and torture done by the other characters in this movie, yet I hate Stephen the most… Big props to Sam L J tho for portraying one of the most despicable black character in a history of movies… 😂
I’m a proud modern day Steve 💪🏿
Why is you crying … Your scaring me
The true villain in the film
DiCaprio was just an appetizer before the Main Course
