My Survival Story: Living in Gaza as a 7-Year-Old

Posted by

Living in Gaza as a 7-year-old is not easy. The constant turmoil and conflict can make everyday life a challenge. But somehow, I have managed to survive and find moments of joy amidst the chaos.

One of the biggest challenges I face is the lack of basic necessities. Access to clean water and electricity is limited, and food shortages are a constant concern. My family struggles to make ends meet, and the uncertainty of when the next supply of essential items will arrive is a constant source of stress.

Despite these struggles, I have learned to appreciate the small things in life. I find joy in playing with my friends in the streets, even though the sound of airstrikes and gunfire often fills the air. We create our own games and try to forget the dangers that surround us.

Education is also a challenge in Gaza. Schools are often closed due to the violence, and when they are open, the quality of education is affected by the lack of resources. Yet, I am determined to learn and make the most of my time in school. I know that education is the key to a better future, and I do my best to stay focused on my studies despite the difficult circumstances.

In times of conflict, I have learned to find comfort in my family. We stick together and support each other, finding strength in our love for one another. My parents do their best to shield me from the harsh realities of life in Gaza, but I can sense their fear and concern for our safety.

Despite the challenges, there are moments of hope and resilience. I am inspired by the kindness of humanitarian workers who provide assistance to families like mine. Their presence gives me hope for a better future, and I am grateful for their efforts to bring aid to those in need.

As a 7-year-old in Gaza, survival means finding joy in small moments, staying focused on my education, and relying on the love and support of my family. I dream of a day when the conflict will end, and I can live without fear. But until then, I continue to embrace life in Gaza with courage and determination.

We are with you, little girl. We are calling for a ceasefire every day. The US will slowly stop supporting this violence. You ll survive and will go play in the park.

Her life is going to get a whole lot harder once her family decides she is old enough to breed!

You are seven years old. You should not be going down to hospitals and watching that stuff. Why are her grandma not watching her?

IF I DIE BEFORE I WAKE
-PaulTeich-©️10/31/2023
If I die, before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take
Is make pretend to a little girl
No matter what the religious leaders say
Her parents are real

A little girl is her mother’s heart
She is her father’s soul
She annoys her brother and he her
To the sweetheart, Darling, little girl
The heart, the soul and the annoyance are real

When mommy goes away, and she says to the light of her life
Her older son crosses, arms and looms over in discontent
Grown-ups come back my joy and sweetness
And a little girl cries, and reaches out her arms and runs for the door
This is real to the little girl

When mommy comes back, that is real to the little girl
When mommy says hide in the bathroom, we don’t have a basement
They are dropping bombs
That is not real to the sweetness and light that is a little girl
When soldiers, yank mommy from the bathroom and defile her
What is real to the little girl?

If I die before I wake
There will be no more bombs
If I die before I wake
The soldiers won’t be able to do me what they did to mommy

If I die before I wake
Why should I pray the Lord my soul to take?
If he couldn’t save mommy
What is real to a little girl?
May the love in a little girl’s heart, be understood and real
May peace, love and poetry, save the world
