NiceGUI 1.2 Paves the Way for Electron-like Capabilities

Exciting news for developers and software designers! NiceGUI has released version 1.2, with a host of new features that bring it closer to replicating the capabilities of Electron.

For those who may not be familiar, Electron is a popular framework that allows developers to build cross-platform desktop applications using web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. NiceGUI has been gaining traction as an alternative to Electron, offering a simpler and more lightweight solution for building GUI applications.

With version 1.2, NiceGUI introduces enhancements that expand its capabilities and make it even more versatile for developers. Some key features include:

  • Improved performance: NiceGUI now offers faster rendering times and smoother transitions, making for a more seamless user experience.
  • Customizable themes: Developers can now easily create custom themes for their applications, allowing for greater flexibility in design and branding.
  • Built-in support for APIs: NiceGUI now includes built-in support for common APIs, making it easier to integrate with external services and tools.

Overall, NiceGUI 1.2 is a major step forward in providing developers with a lightweight and efficient solution for building desktop applications. Its Electron-like capabilities make it a compelling choice for those looking to create cross-platform apps without the overhead of a heavier framework.

If you’re interested in trying out NiceGUI 1.2 for yourself, you can download it from their website and start building your own desktop applications today!

I was helping this guy but he's an asshole who doesn't like robotic fingertips coded with his frameworks. I'll use other software. Anything he has done can be reproduced. I can't be replicated. I spent a few weeks in his Github discussions helping people and he was the most ungrateful person I have ever worked with. He is probably a misogynist and clearly needs some more sleep. Who turns away a cutting edge project from their own just to pretend theirs is more cutting edge? That guy right there.

This is just a toy example. I tried playing around with splitter component, trying to adjust the size of right div, but nothing works as expected. Complete waste of my time with this toy framework.

I am so excited to see it continues to grow into something like streamlit or even Nuxt.
