The Weakness in Russia’s Powerful Mortar in Ukraine

Russia’s Monster Mortar in Ukraine has an Achilles’ Heel

The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia has once again brought the spotlight on Russia’s advanced weaponry, particularly its so-called “monster mortar,” the 2S4 Tyulpan. This massive self-propelled mortar has long been a symbol of Russia’s military might, but recent events in Ukraine have revealed a critical weakness in its armor.

The 2S4 Tyulpan, also known as the “Tulip,” is a 240mm self-propelled mortar that is designed to provide long-range fire support to ground forces. With a range of up to 20 kilometers and the ability to fire a variety of ammunition types, including high-explosive, smoke, and cluster munitions, the Tyulpan is a formidable weapon on the battlefield.

However, recent reports from Ukraine have shown that the monster mortar’s Achilles’ heel lies in its mobility. Despite its impressive firepower, the Tyulpan is a cumbersome and slow-moving vehicle, making it an easy target for Ukrainian forces equipped with modern anti-tank missiles and artillery.

In a recent battle near the town of Avdiivka, Ukrainian forces managed to destroy several 2S4 Tyulpan mortars using anti-tank guided missiles, effectively neutralizing the threat posed by these massive weapons. The videos of these successful attacks have since gone viral on social media, highlighting the vulnerabilities of Russia’s once-feared monster mortar.

The 2S4 Tyulpan’s lack of mobility not only makes it an easy target for enemy forces but also limits its effectiveness in modern warfare. In a dynamic battlefield environment where speed and maneuverability are key, the slow-moving Tyulpan is at a significant disadvantage.

Furthermore, the monster mortar’s size and weight also make it difficult to transport and deploy, making it less adaptable to different combat scenarios. This is in stark contrast to modern artillery systems used by NATO and other Western powers, which prioritize mobility and rapid deployment.

The vulnerability of Russia’s 2S4 Tyulpan in Ukraine serves as a reminder that even the most advanced weapons can have weaknesses that can be exploited by resourceful and determined adversaries. As the conflict in Ukraine continues, it is clear that the monster mortar’s Achilles’ heel has been exposed, posing a significant challenge for Russia’s military capabilities in the region.

In conclusion, while the 2S4 Tyulpan may have once been a symbol of Russia’s military might, recent events in Ukraine have shown that it has a critical Achilles’ heel. Its lack of mobility and vulnerability to modern anti-tank weapons make it a liability on the battlefield, highlighting the importance of adaptability and innovation in modern warfare.

Great piece of kit. Makes you wonder though whether the Russians really need the 160mm mortar in addition to the 203mm mortar, on top of their 120mm & 82mm mortars & excellent gun-mortars. If your MIC can build, operate, supply & maintain all these systems, well then bully for you, I guess. In the Soviet way of doing things, these 203mms go in Front-level Heavy Artillery Brigades, which the Russians of late seem to be reconstituting. If & when it's "Breakthrough Time", the poor old conscripts in the trenches will be hearing from these.

So the Achilles' heel is the same for any other vehicle/plane/ship/weapon – it can be destroyed. Shocking discovery.

Breech loaded mortars are fantastic for siege warfare, and nothing else. On a kinetic battlefield they are extremely vulnerable.

I could see this being used in combined arms or in a urban areas were you can hind but this seems like a pretty big target for artilerary on the battlefield.

This is the notorious Monster from hell cannon, 240MM shells, Pure Terror, Ukraineians biggest fear is this artillery gun. This is the cannon Ukraine has placed the highest priority of locating , Once located they place the highest priority at annihilating. WE've witnessed a few bids showing the Tuplan being hit by various weapons. The shells weigh a ton and its not a easy system to supply and maintain. Its a big heavy system and not good for traveling in snow/muddy roads. It will be difficult for russia to hide this big cannon when snows are highlighting the big monster's position. Top priority for Ukraine is to seek this cannon and annihilate.

READ ME, IMPORTANT!

Have you ever thought of what would happen to you today if you were to die?
If you died today, are you 100% sure that you would go to heaven?
How do I get to Heaven?

It is easy as A-B-C!

A-Admit you are a sinner condemned to death (Physical and Spiritual:
Spiritual death is eternity in HELL !)

Romans 3:23 (KJV) says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
No one in this world is perfect and free of sin. There was only One in this world that was perfect and that was Jesus

Romans 6:23 (KJV) says "for the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
By death the Bible is speaking of life after death without Christ and by eternal life He is speaking of life filled with joy in the kingdom of the Lord.

B-Believe that Jesus Christ loves you and died for your sins and rose again and that HE ALONE can save you from sin, death, and hell.

Romans 5:8 (KJV) says "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

John 3:16 (KJV) says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"
God loved us so much that He gave His Son, His one and only Son, do die for us. Even while He knew we were sinners and always would be, He still died for us. Praise His name, the King of Kings.

C-Confess your sins to Jesus, accept Him in your heart as your Lord and Savior

Romans 10:9 (KJV) says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved"

Romans 10:13 (KJV) says "for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"
You have to truly believe in your heart that Christ died for you to be saved. All you have to do is ask for his forgiveness and ask him to enter your heart. Walk with him in faith and he shall give you a multitude of blessings.

A prayer for salvation:

Lord,
I know that I am a sinner and I know I will never be able to repay you for your sacrifice. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. I want to walk beside you and bring glory to your name. I will put all of my trust and faith in you Lord. I love you and I thank you for all of your grace.
In Jesus name I pray
Amen

If you have prayed this prayer and truly meant it in your heart ,
God’s Word assures you that you now have eternal life.
See John 6:37 and John 10:27-29
