US vetoes UN ceasefire vote as fighting in Gaza continues: Israel-Hamas war | LiveNOW from FOX

Posted by

The Israel-Hamas war has reached a critical turning point as the United Nations attempts to broker a ceasefire to halt the ongoing fighting in Gaza. However, the efforts have hit a major roadblock as the United States has vetoed a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire.

The Israel-Hamas conflict, which has been ongoing for over a week, has resulted in a devastating loss of life and destruction in Gaza. The Israeli military launched airstrikes on the Gaza Strip in response to rockets fired by Hamas militants. The violence has escalated rapidly, with both sides exchanging fire and causing widespread devastation in the region.

The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting to address the crisis and called for an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians and allow for humanitarian aid to reach those in need. However, the US vetoed the resolution, citing the need for Israel to defend itself against the Hamas rocket attacks.

This decision has sparked outrage and condemnation from many countries and international organizations, who have called for an immediate end to the violence. The veto has also raised questions about the US’s role in the conflict and its commitment to finding a peaceful resolution.

As the fighting continues unabated, the situation in Gaza is becoming increasingly dire. Reports of civilian casualties and widespread destruction have raised concerns about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region. The lack of a ceasefire has also hindered efforts to deliver much-needed aid to those affected by the conflict.

Amidst the ongoing violence, world leaders have urged both Israel and Hamas to de-escalate the situation and work towards a sustainable ceasefire. The UN, along with other international organizations, continues to call for an end to the violence and a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

The situation remains highly volatile, with no end to the fighting in sight. The veto of the UN ceasefire resolution by the US has only deepened the sense of urgency and desperation to halt the bloodshed in Gaza.

As the world watches the conflict unfold, there is hope that a resolution can be reached to bring an end to the violence and pave the way for a lasting peace in the region. However, with the US vetoing the ceasefire resolution, the road to a peaceful resolution appears to be fraught with obstacles. The international community must continue to put pressure on both sides to end the fighting and seek a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Gaza.

I wonder how many nations would have voted for a cease fire had Hamas infiltrated their homeland and perpetrated the very same acts on their people. I'm aware this is hypothetically speaking and only conjecture, but a valid question for sure.

Still not a war. It’s a systematic genocide carried out by israel. Only one side is getting $3.8 billion from the US in weapons and aid annually and it ain’t the open air concentration camp with a 52% population under 18

The title of this is all wrong. Israel-Hamas. Its an Israeli genocide assault against the children and innocents of Gaza and the West Bank. Where are the images and videos of combat between Israelis and Hamas besides the few recycled ones in the beginning?? Most of the time you just see videos of the Israeli Posers. It’s really disgusting seeing a bunch of Israeli posers trying to flex in front of the cameras when children are dying mostly.

The United States pays for 20% of Israel's military budget while Israel has universal health care, subsidized college tuition and still ran a budget surplus last year
